ELMALI BAKLAVA


BAKLAVA WITH APPLE FILLING

I use the same way as regular baklava to make this "unusual baklava." It was just my curiosity but it turned out very well. I used the filling of these cookies except the 1 cup of granulated sugar instead of walnut.
It might give you some other ideas...

    ellerine sağlık canım..ben eski bir sofra dergisinde çok ünlü bir şefin turunç reçelli baklavasını okumuştum:) elmelıya eminim bayılırım acaba az ölçüyle denenebilir mi?

    Tesekkurler Aysegul, kabak ve baklava kelimeleri biraraya gelince bile ilginc geldi acaba baklavasi nasil olur merak ettim dogrusu.

    Saliha, tekrar hosgeldin.
    Demek ki tek merakli ben degilmisim:) Eminim ki turuncun tadida kokusu da baklavaya cok yakisir.

  5. Merhaba İffet!

    I was wondering, do you ever make su böreği, or do you know where I could find a recipe for it (in English)? I lived in Ankara this summer with a Turkish family, and every week my "Turkish mom" made su böreği with cheese and parsley. It was soooo good. I would like to make it, but I can't read Turkish well enough to understand recipes. :( Also, I don't know about finding the right kind of cheese in the U.S., or those little black seeds that go on top...

    Actually, there are a lot of things my Turkish mom made that I would like to make, especially zeytinyağlı dishes. Turkish home cooking is SO good. Thank you for this blog! :)

    For the cheese and the seeds;
    cheese is Turkish feta cheese ( beyaz peynir ) and the seeds are nigella seeds ( corekotu ).
    You might get these two ingredients online from Turkish food sites.
